A day and a half after a dry cold front passed north of our location.  Stronger winds at altitude were now light and clocking around toward a Santa Anna offshore.  The morning had some local sharp drainage through narrow funnels.  The cool air mass and warm surface temps provided a good lapse rate.  Ojai was crystal clear, but SB had some marine haze pooling out front at the lower altitudes, no wind in the channel or along the beach.  The west tried to pull in early, but the building east dominated as the day heated up.  The lower soupy layer in SB was cleared out by a SE flow gusting into the mid teens on the ridge line at it's peak around 2 pm.

The altitudes were ok, but not as good as expected based on the good paper lapse rate.  55+ in some convergence over Nordhoff, 75+ up against the east wind toward the Bluffs, but only 5+ across The Pass.  Despite the lower altitudes crossing the high terrain, the going was pretty easy with consistent good seams along the back ridge.  The east wind continued to build at working altitude through 2 pm, and the ride got progressively sharp and punchy past the Power Lines.  The wind and punch slackened later in the afternoon.
