Thursday evening, 10/2/03 Owens trip shifted from this weekend to the 18th & 19th On Wednesday, we opted to pass on the weekend of October 4th & 5th due to questionable weather. Deep low pressure in the pacific NW is ejecting a series of short waves across our area, so we have opted to wait a couple of weeks for Indian Summer. Our poll indicated most preferred the 18th & 19th rather than the 11th & 12th. Sharon has been scrambling to rearrange our arrangements. We'll regroup and see who's still on board. I suspect we lost a few. I think the Fly Above All crew may still be in play for this weekend. So if the stars are in alignment and you're still game to go, you may consider checking with Chad & Bo. Wed mornings forecast discussion (potential rain and wind) LONG TERM...ON SATURDAY UPPER LOW HAS WEAKENED AND SHIFTED EAST SO HAVE REMOVED PRECIP FROM LINCOLN COUNTY. HOWEVER...DID INTRODUCE SOME PRECIP FROM BISHOP NORTHEAST INTO NORTHERN NYE COUNTY AS MEDIUM RANGE MODELS ARE IN DECENT AGREEMENT EJECTING NEXT PACIFIC SHORTWAVE OUT OF MASSIVE GULF OF ALASKA LOW. AS SYSTEM MOVES SLOWLY INLAND IT IS WEAKER THEN ITS PREDECESSOR...BUT MODELS INDICATE PLENTY OF RESIDUAL MOISTURE LINGERING ACROSS CENTRAL NEVADA SO HAVE DECIDED TO LEAVE PRECIP IN THE FORECAST. LITTLE TEMPERATURE CHANGE EXPECTED THROUGH THE EXTENDED PERIOD WITH READINGS AT OR SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL. |
